What makes the "Shan Hai Records" so charming is the whimsical thinking of the Chinese forefathers. With their meticulous observation of natural phenomena and creative thinking on hybridization of creatures, they shaped the images of these marvelous beasts.
For example, the Bo, a horse but has the teeth and claws of the tiger, screams like a drum. And the Bi fang, a one-legged bird, often accompanied by fire, is the deification of volcanic eruptions by the ancients.
These mysterious creatures, who condensed the wisdom and imagination, will meet you again across time and space.
Ink Painting is a traditional Chinese painting with thousands of years of history; it focuses on creating a mood, showing the charm of things through the simple depiction of shapes.
The unmissable background, Kunlun Mountains, is outlined with a few strokes, with a large area of white space representing clouds and mist, as if a hazy veil has been draped over the rolling mountains. The observer may feel the floating, ethereal air in the painting and experience the unique oriental aesthetics between void and solid.
After months of meticulous craftsmanship, we generated over 100 hand-drawn manuscripts. To bring out the unique mood in our illustrations, the artists needed to precisely control the brush strokes and the degree of ink blending, and each brush stroke was full of the inheritance of traditional techniques.
